From their website they claim:
Miss Scarlett is a Southern Belle from Brockton and Farmer Jim is a lifelong farmer from the Mid-West.
And if you’ve ever met Farmer Jim or Miss Scarlett..You’d remember!
They are super down to earth and TOTALLY about being local.. sustainable.. and helping grow the Cape’s economy..which is why we LOVE them so much!
Miss Scarlet’s Blue Ribbon Farm is a 33 acre highly diversified and sustainable family farm in Yarmouth Port on Route 6a. You can also follow their progress with their crops, along with pigs, chickens, ducks and more on their facebook page
And as if he isn’t busy enough, Farmer Jim has started a local TV show called Meet the Cape Cod Farmer..has many of his recent shows on Youtube ..and is also the President and State Director of the Cape & Islands Farm Bureau
Jim and Miss Scarlett are good people..doing great things. So when Farmer Jim approached us about growing hops together – we were delighted. And let us be clear, while we call this the Cape Cod Beer Hop Project, so far Farmer Jim has done all the heavy lifting! Depending on the level of success (as some hops will not produce in the first year) we hope to be able to use these hops in beers later in the year. Cheers!
So, stop by Miss Scarlett’s Blue Ribbon Farm and check out their progress – they are doing very cool things!
Here are some recent photos.
