Christmas in July is a nod to the days of summer camp when you would celebrate Christmas with your “camp friends”.
After years of having NO special releases in the summer months ( because we were way too busy) when finally caved to all the pressure to put out a special beer in the summer months. This is how Christmas in July the beer was born.
Toss in some Christmas decorations at the brewery and a visit from “Summer Santa” and over the years it has turned into a bit of party, with the centerpiece being the release of the specialty bottled beer: Christmas in July.
What is Christmas in July 2017 exactly? It is always a barrel aged version of Old Man Winter.
This years barrel came from our friends at South Hollow Spirits/Truro Vineyards. It lived the first part of its life as a Chardonnay barrel, for Truro Vineyards Chardonnay. When that was bottled the barrel was moved over to the distillery side of their operation and filled with Twenty Boat Amber Rum. We were lucky enough to get these barrels after they were emptied of their rum, and we turned around and aged our Old Man Winter in them for Christmas in July 2017.
So join us on Tuesday July 25th for Christmas in July 2017.
- Beer Release: 10am til the beer in gone (usually within a week). 750 ml bottles only ~ 2 per customer ~ $20 per bottle
- Visit with Santa: Santa will be here from 3pm to 5pm for photos and chatting! Santa is happy to be photographed with kids, adults and sell behaved pups!
- South Hollow Spirits Tasting: Our friends from South Hollow spirits here from 4pm to 6pm to sample their fine spirits.
- Old Man Winter Cans on Special: try the beers side by side with a special deal on 4 packs of Old Man Winter in cans.
