Sales Assistant/Merchandiser – Entry Level Position

At Cape Cod Beer, the Sales Assistant/Merchandiser is an entry level position for someone who strives to be a sale executive in the future.  The Sales Assistant/Merchandiser works with the Sales Team to add value to all customer sales and “touches”. This is a new position that covers all of the 4 existing sales territories (Mid, Lower/Outer, Upper/Off Cape and Martha’s Vineyard), and will likely grow with the right candidate to have an assigned customer base.   We believe and follow practices to ensure that our Customers are our most important asset and deserving of World Class Customer Service.  We also believe that communication between and amongst our sales staff is essential to our success.  We have a proven process in place to teach you the skills you need to be successful at this job, and to hopefully grow into a Sales Associate position. This position is fashioned for the right person who is serious about working on their career, on Cape Cod, but doesn’t quite know how to break into a sales role.  We will teach the right person everything they need to know, as long as they come to the position with an open mind and a strong work ethic.  This position has 100% paid benefits and paid vacation accrual after a 90-day waiting period. This position reports to the Director of Sales & Distribution.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships through a high standard of professionalism, behavior, and respectful and attentive communication. This job requires someone who can be courteous and responsive to customer service opportunities with a close attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Helping Sales staff with timely and accurate inventory counts, tracking of customer orders and inputting prospect notes in the bMobile system.
  • Helping Sales staff with maintaining tap audits and other data collection in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Implementing assigned marketing and point of sale promotional opportunities as directed by the Director of Sales in a way that helps expand or improve sales volume, market share, product distribution, space allocation and customer service.
  • Staffing Point of Sale promotional event (tastings, pint nights, waitstaff education etc) after training.
  • Delivering product, individually or with the distro team, and performing draught services as required.
  • Scheduling and attending approved promotional sales and charity events.
  • Maintaining knowledge of all active accounts’ status to address and/or escalate real or perceived issues before the account is in danger.
  • Maintaining compliance with all company vehicle fleet and safety standard operating procedures.
  • Maintaining a constant focus on the company’s four pillars: quality, community, conservation and customer service in all aspects of the job, and its interaction with customers and fellow employees.


  • Must maintain a professional appearance at all times on the job as a representative of Cape Cod Beer.
  • Must be available to work occasional Saturdays as required.
  • Must be reliable and organized business practices and a neat and professional appearance.
  • Must have working knowledge of Outlook, Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
  • Must be 21 years of age and have a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and hang point of sale merchandising materials.
