There is something for everyone: local cuisine, arts and crafts, educational programs, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, walking tours, live music, a road race, and the annual Oyster Shuck-Off competition.
Visit here for a full schedule of activities.
The ‘Fest is produced by Wellfleet SPAT, Shellfish Promotion and Tasting, Inc., a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization devoted to sustaining Wellfleet’s shellfishing and aquaculture industries. The event is made possible through collaboration with the Town of Wellfleet, the support of many generous area businesses and shellfishermen, a dedicated group of volunteers and, most importantly, the weekend’s enthusiastic attendees.
Last year an estimated 25,000 people walked through festival entrances paying a nominal admission fee for the first time ever! This comes from an effort to keep the event safe and sustainable for years to come. Proceeds from the ‘Fest fund SPAT’s educational mission including a local college scholarship program, community grant awards and initiatives to help the shellfishing industry. To date, SPAT has given back more than $385,000 to the local community.
Support the shellfishing and aquaculture industries by offering a donation or getting involved. To find out how to help contact [email protected].
